Latest Tennis Guidelines

Following changes in guidance from the UK Government and associated updated guidance from the LTA, doubles with four players from different households may be played at the Club from Monday 1 June.

The new Government and LTA guidance is detailed and specific risk assessments will be carried out prior to the Club issuing more comprehensive guidance, in particular in relation to Club sessions and other Club specific issues. Until then, all Club events remain cancelled. In the interim, members wishing to play doubles may do so provided that they follow the guidance published by the LTA, to which links are provided below. All members playing must please read, and follow, the full guidance and also remind themselves of the guidelines which the Club issued to members on 13 May and updated on 24 May.

Please remember, in particular, the following key points:

1. Social distancing remains important to protect both members and staff.

2. You must book a court on Fastcourts before playing. Given the new guidance, those who book the court should please enter the names of ALL members playing with them so that, in the event of tracing being necessary, contact can be made with the relevant members as quickly as possible.

3. Hand sanitisers should be used frequently and hands washed as soon as practical before and after play (but see 4 below). Please note that, with doubles, the regular use of sanitisers is of even greater importance. Each player should bring their own as well as everything else they need for safe play, including drinking water and sun protection. These should be taken away by members when they have finished playing and should not be shared.

4. The Clubhouse and Pavilion remain closed and out of bounds.

Please see the guidance via the links below in relation to sharing of balls and keeping safe.
