The Club bar is re-opening on the evening of Monday 6 July.
The safety of our members, guests and staff is paramount and underpins the new policies and protocols which are set out below. We would ask that we all work together to observe these policies and protocols which are in line with Government guidelines.
FIRSTLY, IF YOU SHOW ANY SYMPTOMS OF THE VIRUS (NEW COUGH, FEVER, SHORTNESS OF BREATH), YOU ARE ASKED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE CLUB.
The only parts of the clubhouse that will be opened are the function room and the disabled lavatory. Please would you respect that the TV room, changing rooms, members’ kitchen, gym and squash courts remain out of bounds.
On arrival, please use the hand sanitisers which will be made available around the Club and on the tables. Please, also, respect the safety of others by observing the 1m+ social distancing rules.
A one-way system to the bar will be in operation and you will be asked to register your attendance with the bar staff; if guests are involved, they will be asked for contact details. This is to aid any contact tracing should it be required. Records will be kept for 21 days.
Drinks will be served, principally, in bottles. There will be no draft beer at this stage. Wine will be available by the glass but, ideally, should be bought by the bottle. All drinks will be served in disposable glasses and a revised price list will be in operation to reflect this. Please put your glasses in the bin provided once you have finished using them. Payment will be requested either by contactless card or by drawing down on a prepaid tab.
The courtyard will be the main area for socialising and drinking. It will be laid out with tables and chairs and each table will be restricted to 5 persons to aid social distancing. Please do not move the chairs around. At this time, it has not proved possible to put up a marquee or gazebo as we would have wished as the ground below the grass is solid hardcore. We are investigating this.
In an emergency (rain or very cold weather), we shall lay out some tables in the function room. However, the Government guidelines for inside socialising are stricter and limit the number of people socialising to people coming from the same ‘support bubble’. We ask that you do not use the inside table facilities unless you come from the same ‘bubble’. You are further asked not to stand around in the function room drinking or socialising.
The bar staff will, throughout the shift, come and clean the tables. Chairs and other surfaces will be cleaned at the end of each session. Please would you show patience and help the staff when they come to undertake these tasks.
These are early days and we shall keep these guidelines under review as clearer custom and practice emerge. However, we were keen to open the bar at the earliest opportunity and these measures have been put in place to allow this.
