Rother Meads Tennis and Games Club is a multi-sports club and new members, of all ages and standards, are always welcome. With three all-weather tennis courts, eight grass courts and two squash courts, the Club actively promotes tennis and squash for adults and juniors. There is also a small gym as well as facilities for table tennis and croquet. Coaching is available for both adults and juniors in tennis and squash. As an amateur sports club, run by its members, we are always keen to hear from those who have the time to get involved. If you have any questions about membership, please contact a member of the Executive Committee or email

Application for Membership

If you would like to join, you can download the Membership Application Form. Please complete this and send it to the Hon Treasurer together with the appropriate subscription payment. You will find rates on the Annual Subscriptions page.

Dormant Membership

Members going abroad for a full year may retain their membership of the Club by paying the dormant subscription of £35 per annum per head. This will enable them to rejoin automatically when they return.

Payment of Subscriptions

The Club's financial year begins on 1st April and the normal method of payment is by cheque, with a cut-off date of 31st May each year. Members wishing to pay by direct debit or standing order (either annually or in instalments) may do so by arrangement with the Hon Treasurer.
While the Club strives to keep subscriptions affordable, we recognise that from time to time members may struggle to meet the cost and that the level of subscription might prove a barrier to those considering joining. The Club and its Executive Committee do not want cost to be a barrier to membership and will do what it can, given the Club's limited resources, to help in cases where levels of income and capital make affording membership difficult.

Guest Fees

Guests and other non-members are welcome to play at the Club but, in order to guarantee a real "club" atmosphere, local residents may not play tennis or squash as guests more than four times a year without applying to join the Club.

Current fees payable by guests and other visitors are as follows:

Squash: £2 per session (40 minutes)

Tennis: £10 per person per session up to 2 hours.

For guests playing with members, special rates for tennis apply as follows:

Tennis: £8 per person per session up to 2 hours.

If accompanied guests are under 18, fees due are half of the above rates.

All guest fees should be paid (and names entered in the register in the Clubhouse) before players go on court.
